Platformer Update

Platformer Update is growing more and more each day. As our visitor count rises, we need more daily content to satisfy our daily readers. As we all know news is not always available daily for platformer games (though we try to make it so!) and the best thing to fill in the news gaps is with reviews! This is where you come in. If you feel you are capable of writing at least 1 review a week for any kind of platforming games and would like to join the PU Staff, contact me now! We are also looking for one more news/feature article writer, who may also do reviews if they please. To apply you must provide an example of a past review you have done (for any type of game). It can be from any system, genre, whatever, if you cannot pick just one you are free to submit two or more, but I cannot guarantee I can read all of them so just submit your best. If you are applying for a hybrid position of say news/articles/reviews (or two of the three) you must still provide a writing sample of some sorts.

I will mainly be looking for quality over quantity, even though reviews should around the size of this page if not longer, as long as you get your point across in a professional way is all that matters (this means no over usage of Internet lingo such as lol, sux, etc.) While it is hard to prove age over the Internet, I would like reviewers to be 18 or older.

If you are accepted you will earn a spot on the Platformer Update staff, where each day your reviews will be read by other platformer fans seeking your opinions on their favorite genre. Do not be afraid if you have never written for a website before, we use WordPress which makes writing, spell checking, editing, and submitting posts as easy as can be, even for images.

One last thing, we do this for our love of these games and not for money. Getting a spot on the staff will in no way pay for your mortgage or family. In fact it’s all volunteer, so in order to write for us you have to do it out of your passion for platformers and the will to share it with thousands!
